"Male Star of Tomorrow"

Each year the ShoWest Society has a big festival for which film producers, directors, actors, and actresses gather together.  They view and give out awards to the past year's most prominent films and entertainers in the industry.

The Star of the Year Award went to Julia Robers, the society's first woman ever to receive the honor.  The other two significant awards are "Male Star of Tomorrow" and "Female Star of Tomorrow."  In 1998, Matt Damon was given the "Male Star of Tomorrow" Award for his success in "Good Will Hunting" and "The Rainmaker" as well as their belief that he will continue to rise and achieve even greater success in the future.  Past winners include Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.
