Laurel
I am 25 years old and thought some of your readers might like this story. When Matt Damon was filming the Rainmaker in Tennessee, I met him at a local bar and grill. He came over to our table and introduced himself. He explained that he was filming and was trying to learn the southern accent first hand. He asked if I cared if he joined me. I really didn't mind, but part of me didn't believe him either. I truthfully had no idea who he was at this point in his career. Anyway, I met with him 5 or 6 times and he was always kind, courteous, and professional. I eventually came to realize that his was legitamatley filming a movie; it was really exciting. He took me to the set for only about 20 minutes and kind of introduced me the others.
Anyway, just thought I would share this with you guys. Matt was really nice to me. He is very dedicated to his profession. No, I did not kiss him, etc. It was also during the time that I met him that he got the go ahead for Good Will Hunting, little did I know that he would later win awards and make it big. I guess it's just a nice story to tell. I met Matt Damon, had no clue who he was, and then he goes off and makes it big. Oh well, I guess I'll have a story to tell my kids some day. Hope you enjoy my little dish on Matt. It's not hopelessly romantic, but he was a real gentlemen at all times. One other little bit, Matt is rather short. On the screen when I watched his movies, he seems kind of tall. I am 5'8'' and I don't know exactly how tall he is, but he wasn't that much taller than me (probably only a few inches taller). Take care and I hope you like my little story. It's not all that grand, but I guess I can always say, "I met Matt Damon."
