SCHEDULED CHATS

Every so often we will try to schedule a chat so that fans can get together to reminisce about Matt's films, talk about his upcoming projects, or just to have some fun!  Most chats will take place with IRC on any DALNet servers, so make sure you know how to use the program with your inernet client.  Anyone can join these chats, so follow the simple directions below and we'll see you soon!

Server: IRC (Internet Relay Chat) on any DALnet Server.

What is IRC?
IRC is short for Internet Relay Chat.  This is a text-only chat (other chat programs such as "The Palace" lets you have pictures, sounds, etc.) We us this type of chat because it's simpler and larger numbers of people can join in rather than chats on America Online, Prodigy, or other automatic chats.

What do I need to use IRC?
Two things: an internet account and an IRC "client" (or "program").  Some good, FREE clients to use would be MIRC or XIRCON for Windows users and ChatNet for Macintosh users.  America Online users go to Keyword: IRC for more information.  

Ok, I have the two things.  Now, how do I join the chat?
After you've found the client you want to use and downloaded it, log onto the internet as you normally would.  Then "RUN" the IRC program (while you're still logged on) and follow the simple instructions. (Make sure you use a DALnet Server). Once the IRC program is started, type in "/join #mattdamon" (leave "" out) and you should be there! =)
